GOD's People Are Called to Fast and Pray

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

FASTING:

It is not an OPTION.

JESUS said, Times will come when we WILL fast.

Take Heart! It is NOT an hard thing!

Begin with fasting 1 meal only. 1 day only.

Then try 1 meal only ...every other day...

How about fasting 1 meal EVERY DAY?

My sweet friend Dee sent me this poem, and I'd like to share it with everyone:

woke up this morning
and knew that today,
The sun would not be shining
and the clouds would be grey.

As I stepped outside,
rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start
so I walked to school instead.

I forgot all of my assignments
I failed all of my tests.
I dropped my head in disgust
and asked the Lord for
one request.

"Lord, why is it that
things won't go my way?"
He gently replied,
"Dear child it is because
you didn't thank me yesterday.

I woke you up and enabled
you to see the sun again.
I gave you shelter,
protected your family, and even let
you make a new friend.

I blessed you far
greater than I ever had before.
But you were too busy
to thank me once more.

You didn't feel sick
because I maintained your health.
You had money in your pocket
because I maintained your wealth.

You had shoes on you feet
and clothes to wear, too.
You had plenty of food to eat,
and what did you do?

You ignored me and went
about your tasks.
But when you wanted something
you never hesitated to ask.

I was there when you needed me
and that wasn't too long ago.
But when things started going your way,
it was me you did not know.

As if that weren't enough,
I provided your favourite luxuries.
This was something I didn't have
to do - they weren't even necessities.

And when it was time to get on your
knees and show your gratitude,
You decided that after such a
fulfilling day, you weren't in the mood.

So I decided to
give you just a little test.
To show you how it would feel
to stop being blessed."


I began to realize what
the Lord was saying.
And when I got home, I fell
to my knees and started praying.

He said, "My child, you have
learned and you know I do forgive.
But remember to remember this day
as long as you shall live.

I love filling your life with joy,
and your pain I'll alleviate it.
But just a simple thank you
would show how much you
appreciate it."

1. School desktop computer system to ELIMINATE HEAVY BACKPACKS children carry cdr's instead of books. (okokok...this one is for all the Children in the world-& their parents who love them dearly. I've always said that those cursed HEAVY backpacks were thought up by some CHIROPRACTOR to drum up ALOT of business)

2. Shawl / sweater / jacket / coat : with built in warmer (i.e. Heating pad) battery / solar powered (other options for heat supply?) ----this one is for my mom...she felt cold when other people didn't

3. Long Gloves for washing dishes @ restaurants over the elbow w/ wrap around the upper arm velcro fasteners(like an umbrella) made of special material not latex. (I have a friend who works as a dishwasher. She is alergic to the chemicals they use...I feel so bad for the way she breaks out and suffers.)

4. Under-Mobile Home Trailer Space Utilizers: extra storage, or room inhancements....with storage too. OR safer harbors for storm passings. ---wasted space (wasted anything) really bothers me.

Students Will Use Laptops, Online Articles Instead of Books

TUCSON, Ariz. (July 11) - A high school in Vail will become the state's first all-wireless, all-laptop public school this fall. The 350 students at the school will not have traditional textbooks. Instead, they will use electronic and online articles as part of more traditional teacher lesson plans.

Vail Unified School District's decision to go with an all-electronic school is rare, experts say. Often, cost, insecurity, ignorance and institutional constraints prevent schools from making the leap away from paper.

''The efforts are very sporadic,'' said Mark Schneiderman, director of education policy for the Software and Information Industry Association. ''A minority of communities are doing a good or very good job, but a large number are just not there on a number of levels.''

Calvin Baker, superintendent of Vail Unified School District, said the move to electronic materials gets teachers away from the habit of simply marching through a textbook each year.

He noted that the AIMS test now makes the state standards the curriculum, not textbooks. Arizona students will soon need to pass Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards to graduate from high school.

But the move to laptops is not cheap. The laptops cost $850 each, and the district will hand them to 350 students for the entire year. The fast-growing district hopes to have 750 students at the high school eventually.

A set of textbooks runs about $500 to $600, Baker said.

It's not clear how the change to laptops will work, he conceded.

''I'm sure there are going to be some adjustments. But we visited other schools using laptops. And at the schools with laptops, students were just more engaged than at non-laptop schools,'' he said.
